Key Policies & Procedures

Students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with Le Pont’s key policies before commencing their studies. These policies outline your rights and responsibilities as a student.
Attendance Policy

Students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with Le Pont’s key policies before commencing their studies. These policies outline your rights and responsibilities as a student.

Le Pont monitors the academic progress of all students to ensure they are on track to complete their qualification within the expected timeframe. Students who are at risk of not making satisfactory progress will be contacted and supported with an intervention strategy. For international students, consistent unsatisfactory course progress may have implications for student visa status and may result in reporting to the Department of Home Affairs under the ESOS Act
All assessments at Le Pont are conducted in accordance with the principles of validity, reliability, flexibility, and fairness. Assessments include written tasks, practical demonstrations, and observations. Students who do not achieve competency on an assessment task will have the opportunity to be reassessed. The College provides clear feedback and support to help students achieve the required outcomes.
Students may apply to defer or temporarily suspend their studies in exceptional circumstances. Applications must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation. The College may also initiate suspension or cancellation of enrolment in cases of serious misconduct or persistent failure to meet course progress requirements. International students are reminded that changes to enrolment status must be reported to the Department of Home Affairs.
All students are required to provide a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) prior to commencement. The USI is a reference number that allows your training records to be captured in a centralised government system. Students can create a USI at usi.gov.au. Le Pont cannot issue a Certificate or Statement of Attainment without a verified USI.

Complaints & Appeals

Le Pont International College is committed to providing a fair and accessible complaints and appeals process. If you have a concern, we encourage you to raise it promptly.
Informal Resolution
In the first instance, students are encouraged to speak directly with the relevant trainer or staff member to resolve the matter informally and promptly.
Formal Complaint
If the matter is not resolved informally, students may lodge a formal written complaint with the College. Complaints will be acknowledged within 5 business days and investigated fairly.
Internal Appeal
If a student is unsatisfied with the outcome of a formal complaint, they may appeal the decision. Appeals are reviewed by a senior staff member not involved in the original decision.
External Appeal
Students may also access external independent dispute resolution. International students may contact the Overseas Students Ombudsman (OSO) at any stage of the process.

RPL & Credit Transfer

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to have their existing skills, knowledge, and experience recognised toward their qualification — without needing to complete units where competency can already be demonstrated.

Credit Transfer allows students who have already completed units of competency at another registered training organisation (RTO) to have those units credited toward their qualification at Le Pont.

Applications for RPL or Credit Transfer must be submitted at the time of enrolment or before commencing relevant units. Supporting evidence and documentation will be required.
